How to Play Thunder & Lightning
Quick start
Use Left and Right to line Mr. Chin's stick up with the return, and press A to serve. Hold B with a direction for emergency speed, but release it before the ball arrives so you do not overshoot. Prioritise safe returns and defensive Long or Slow drops before taking risks for missiles.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right: move Mr. Chin. A: launch the opening ball, release a ball caught by the Glove, or shoot missiles when equipped. Hold B while moving: run faster. Start: pause.
Thunder & Lightning — About this game
Thunder & Lightning is the North American NES version of Family Block, a character-driven Breakout variant starring Mr. Chin. His overhead stick sends the Demoe Ball through thirty finite stages filled with unusual block layouts, enemies and item-dropping vehicles. Glove, missiles, Big, Long, Slow and multiball effects change how a wall is approached, while missed returns cost lives. The US guide documents the same core game under its localised title.
