How to Play FIFA Football 2005
Quick start
Press START on the title screen, select Friendly Match, choose both teams and confirm the Match Preview to reach kick-off. The immediate aim is to outscore the opposition across the two halves. Read the brief Game Controls panel shown before the match, then build the first attack with short B-button passes; move into space with the D-pad and tap A only when a clear shot opens. Keep R-button sprinting for a break or a recovery run rather than holding it constantly.
Controls
Menus: use the D-pad to highlight, A to confirm, B to go back and START to advance or pause. On the pitch, the D-pad moves the selected footballer and aims the next action. In possession, tap A to shoot and tap B to pass; hold B for the one-two-pass action. When defending, A performs a standing tackle and B changes the selected player. Hold R while moving to sprint. L acts as the modifier for the advanced lob, through-ball and stronger defensive actions shown on the pre-match Game Controls panel.
