How to Play FIFA Football 2005
Quick start
Press START at the title screen, choose Friendly Match, select the two teams and confirm the Match Preview to reach kick-off. Your first objective is simply to finish the two halves with more goals than the opposition. The game displays a compact Game Controls reminder before each match: begin with short B-button passes, use the D-pad to move into space, and tap A when a clear shooting lane opens. Save R-button sprinting for a break or recovery run so the ball carrier remains easy to steer.
Controls
Menus: D-pad highlights an item, A confirms, B returns, and START advances or pauses. During a match, use the D-pad to move the selected player and aim passes or shots. With the ball, tap A to shoot and tap B to pass; holding B initiates the game's one-two-pass action. Without the ball, A makes the standing tackle and B switches the selected defender. Hold R while moving to sprint. L is the modifier used for the advanced lob, through-ball and stronger defensive actions identified on the pre-match Game Controls screen.
