How to Play Ninja Kid
Quick start
On the first map, use the D-pad to enter one of the three white temples. Check the quota in the middle of the status bar and complete that stage's specific task. Press A to jump and B to throw darts, while SELECT cycles through special weapons you have collected. Hold Down and press A to drop through a platform when the route requires it. With one target remaining, look for a flute that can call help during Shangri-La battles. Do not leave a stage while the challenge scroll is falling; collect it, visit Shangri-La's hut, and then enter the yellow temple for the castle encounter.
Controls
D-pad: move Ninja Kid on the map and in stages; move in all directions while flying the kite. A: jump, with height determined by how long it is held; Down + A drops through a platform. B: throw darts or the selected weapon. SELECT: cycle through collected special weapons. START: begin or pause the game.
Ninja Kid — About this game
Ninja Kid is a single-player NES action game built around a map and a rotating set of stage objectives. Entering a white temple sends Kyo into one of four formats: catching spirits in a poison field, defeating enemies on foot, battling airborne foes from a kite, or guiding a flame to ten candles. Completing the quota creates two windows; one returns to the map while the other can trigger a mini-boss fight. Enemies and projectiles usually defeat Kyo in one hit, so positioning and the timely use of collectible weapons matter more than rushing for points. The larger mission is to secure a challenge scroll, deliver it to Shangri-La, and pursue him into the yellow castle through a sequence that grows harder each round.
