How to Play New Horizons
Quick start
Choose one of the six protagonists, read the opening conversation and finish the first goal of the role. Before leaving port, hire crews, distribute the cabins to food, water, wood, artillery and tradables; sequence with short-range routes off the coast of Europe, familiar with the safest. Buy port specialty at low cost, sell it to higher demand locations, and sell it to seafarers and larger ships.
Controls
The key is used for city movement, sea steering and operating menus. C key identifies items, talks and opens maritime instructions; B key cancels and flips the instructions. A key shows names, money and port data; A is used to match left-readable fleet data, and right-reading sea conditions and supplies, and then toggles information. START opens the option, displays maps inside buildings. Entering numbers selects positions around, up and down, then then press C to verify; YES uses C options, NO uses B.
