Start on the easier setting and learn to use both weapon planes: Missiles hit airborne enemies while Bombs travel toward ground targets. Collect red, green and blue capsules to build the Missile, Bomb and Arm gauges; completing a gauge upgrades that system, while the blue Arm also absorbs hits. At every route junction, choose the upper or lower zone deliberately because the branching path leads to different stages and giant battleships. The Mini version includes an arcade-faithful route and a special mode featuring all 26 bosses. There is no continue, so prioritise survival and a durable Arm over risky capsule grabs.

The D-pad moves Silver Hawk and the menu cursor. A or C confirms menu choices and fires the Missile attack; B fires Bombs. Start opens the main menu, begins play and pauses or resumes. Missile and Bomb attacks may be held or tapped according to the Rapid setting in Options. Red capsules improve Missiles, green improves Bombs and blue strengthens the Arm barrier. At the end of a zone, position the ship on the upper or lower path before the route closes; the selected branch determines the next zone and eventual ending.
