How to Play Laser Invasion

Quick start

Choose GAME START for a new operation or PASS WORD to resume a later one. In the Helijet, steer with the D-pad, hold A to brake toward a hover, hold B for the Vulcan cannon, and tap B rapidly to deploy the selected missile or support item; SELECT cycles equipment. Follow the lower-left map instead of fighting every target, because fuel is limited. After landing, move the sight with the D-pad and fire with B, or use the Famicom light gun. Inside a base, use the map, remember the return route, collect required keys or protection such as the gas mask, and be ready for a timed escape after securing the objective.

Controls

Helijet combat: D-pad moves the craft; hold A to brake/hover; hold B to fire the machine gun; tap B repeatedly to use the selected missile or equipment; SELECT changes the selected loadout. During landing, use the D-pad to position the craft and B to adjust altitude. Ground shooting: D-pad aims and B fires; a Famicom light gun may replace controller aiming; if captured, press A repeatedly to escape. Base exploration: D-pad advances and turns; A opens doors; enemy encounters switch to shooting controls. Text/demos: A advances messages, B speeds text, and START skips a demo. Japanese Gun Sight does not support LaserScope.

Laser Invasion — About this game

Gun Sight is Konami's Japanese Famicom version of the game released in North America as Laser Invasion. Each of its four operations follows a repeating military-action sequence: pilot a Helijet to the marked landing area while balancing fuel, damage, missiles and support gear; clear soldiers and vehicles in a targeting battle; then search a maze-like enemy facility for cards, keys, rations and the mission objective before escaping. The Japanese cartridge supports a standard controller or Nintendo's Famicom light gun, but not the North American LaserScope. It also retains a password system and three continues, whereas the US version removes passwords, raises continues to five and lets players select more starting lives.
