How to Play Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll
Quick start
Choose BEGINNER with SELECT after pressing START, then confirm with START. Practice Up to jump in the journey, with A for kicks and B for punches. Do not just run toward the locked exit: fight the Tusk Beasts for five labels and inspect statues. Once the training match begins, stop button-mashing and respond to the high, middle or low marks. SELECT spends a bottle of Magic Water if you have one.
Controls
Journey: Left/Right move, Up jumps, Down crouches; A kicks and B punches (fires the acquired projectile). Match: Up/Left-or-Right/Down defend high/middle/low; A kicks, B punches, and direction selects height. Left/Right+A+B jumps; after blocking a high punch, Down+B throws. Up+A+B uses Hiryu-no-Ken when the K.O. gauge flashes. SELECT chooses menus or drinks stored Magic Water in a match; START confirms or pauses.
Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll — About this game
Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll is the American NES version of Ryuhi’s martial-arts adventure. After his master Juan is attacked and the scrolls stolen, the young fighter travels toward Shorinji and eventually the world tournament. Journey sections are not cleared by simply reaching the edge: stronger enemies provide five labels that let you unlock the exit, and dragon statues hide supplies or useful clues. Tournament matches use body-height marks to guide attacks and defense, with Magic Water available to restore energy when you have collected it. BEGINNER and PROFESSIONAL are selectable from the start. Unmasking disguised Tusk Soldiers and reclaiming their scrolls is part of progressing, not just winning bouts on points.
