How to Play Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road
Quick start
At the main menu, press SELECT within eight seconds to avoid the demonstration, set one human player and press START. Complete the name entry, move the cursor to FINISH and press A, then pick a country with the D-pad and START. On the track, hold A and use left/right to turn from the truck’s point of view. Keep A held when tapping B for nitro. Aim for a clean four laps; use winnings at the shop and confirm NEXT RACE with SELECT.
Controls
Left/right on the D-pad turns the truck; menu cursors use the D-pad. A is the accelerator: keep it held to maintain speed. Each B press consumes one nitro unit, with A still held. SELECT chooses menu options, buys the highlighted shop item and confirms NEXT RACE. START starts the main-menu selection, confirms the flag and toggles pause during a race.
Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road — About this game
Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road turns short-course truck racing into a single-screen NES contest. Every race contains four trucks, even in solo play, and finishes when the leader completes four laps. The eight stadium tracks also run in reverse, making sixteen configurations to learn. You can pick up cash and nitro on the circuit, then spend winnings on tires for grip, shocks for bumps, acceleration, top speed and fresh nitro. A boost only works as intended while the accelerator stays held, so steering and throttle habits come first. On original NES hardware, one or two players use the normal ports; up to four can race simultaneously with an NES Satellite or Four Score accessory.
