How to Play James Bond Jr.
Quick start
Choose a fresh mission by pressing START on the title screen. Explore the opening complex with the missile objectives in mind, and check the remaining-task counter rather than simply looking for an exit. Press Up in front of a missile computer. Use A to choose a row or B to choose a column, then shift its colours with the directional pad until the large grid matches the small example. Keep any passcode awarded after a mission.
Controls
The directional pad moves James left/right and takes him along ladders or through doors with up/down. A is jump; B uses the current weapon or gadget. Hold Down and press SELECT to change equipment outside water. START pauses play. When using scuba gear, press A to swim; B shoots bubbles and reduces the air supply. For passcodes, up/down changes a digit, left/right changes its position and START confirms.
James Bond Jr. — About this game
The NES edition of James Bond Jr. makes its spying a mixture of exploration, shooting and security work. Four missions take the cartoon agent through a missile operation, a search for stolen plans, a weapons factory and a rescue. Each task has to be dealt with before heading for the exit. Equipment changes how James crosses dangerous areas: scuba gear uses an air supply, and the jet pack spends fuel for both movement and shots. Safes and missile computers interrupt the platforming with their own puzzles. Mission-completion passcodes let you return to later parts without treating the game as one uninterrupted run.
