How to Play James Bond Jr.

Quick start

Press START at the title to begin from the first mission. Search for a missile computer, stand directly in front of it and press Up. In the puzzle, choose rows with A or columns with B, then move their colours with the directional pad to reproduce the small reference image. Back in the level, monitor the remaining objectives. If you reach water, select scuba gear before entering by holding Down and pressing SELECT.

Controls

Left/right moves James; up/down is used for ladders and doorways. A jumps, B operates the selected weapon or item, and Down + SELECT selects another piece of equipment when not underwater. START pauses the game. With scuba gear active, A swims and B fires a bubble using air. In passcode entry, use up/down for numbers and left/right for the current digit, then press START.

James Bond Jr. — About this game

James Bond Jr. on the NES asks you to complete an assignment, not merely survive a string of jumps. The opening mission centres on missile-control terminals; later tasks involve safes, a weapons factory and captive scientists. A colour-matching puzzle guards each missile shutdown, while the safe sequence lets you test combinations with limited attempts. Useful pickups include health, ammunition and extra time, alongside equipment for particular hazards. Read the weapon and resource displays before diving or taking to the air: scuba bubbles consume air, and the jet pack's shots draw from its fuel. The US version's manual also documents passcodes awarded after completed missions.
