How to Play Yo! Noid
Quick start
Press START or SELECT to leave the opening sequence, then START at the title for Stage 1. Move left/right, jump with A and send Takamaru out with B. The opening area's platforms rise and fall, so check their positions before jumping. Attack a large scroll to reveal a ninjutsu item and collect scrolls for the power to use it. At a boss, move the card cursor with the D-pad and confirm with A; select a double or triple modifier before choosing the numbered card it will boost.
Controls
D-pad left/right moves Hanamaru. A jumps and B attacks with Takamaru; the regular attack is unavailable in flight and skateboard scenes. Down + B uses ninjutsu when you have its item and enough spell power. START begins play and pauses the action stages. In boss duels, the D-pad selects a card, A confirms or advances dialogue, and SELECT shows the opponent's cards. Boss duels cannot be paused.
Yo! Noid — About this game
Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru follows a young ninja investigating missing children on Leisure Island. His partner is Takamaru, a mechanical hawk used to strike enemies at a distance. Fourteen stages combine platforming with changes of pace such as skateboarding and flight, where the usual attack is unavailable. Scrolls build ninjutsu power, while opening large scrolls can provide the spell item needed to use it. Boss encounters become card battles rather than action fights: the higher number deals the difference as damage to the opponent's scroll life. Double and triple cards, shields and rice-ball recovery cards make exploration useful before the duel. This is the Japanese ninja story, not the New York pizza setting of Yo! Noid.
