How to Play Kid Kool and the Quest for the Seven Wonder Herbs
Quick start
At the title, press START. Use SELECT to choose START or CONTINUE. Begin by practicing left/right running and A jumps before committing to the first large gap. Collect Wicky when he appears in the grass, then use B to send him at enemies from a safer distance. B is not a run button. Keep enough runway for longer leaps, and leave a water-skipping stretch before you lose momentum and sink.
Controls
Left/right moves Kid Kool and governs running speed. A jumps. B throws Wicky when he is on your back. START begins the game and pauses during play. SELECT chooses START/CONTINUE at the title and is not used during a stage. In the bonus scene, A stops the roulette.
Kid Kool and the Quest for the Seven Wonder Herbs — About this game
King Voldam is gravely ill, and Kid Kool must venture into the Draxer Empire to recover seven curative herbs. This American release replaces the Japanese Kakefu-kun identity with Kid Kool while retaining the demanding, speed-based platforming. Each round ends with a boss guarding one of the herbs. Running builds momentum, so takeoff speed matters when planning a jump. Wicky can ride on your back, attack when thrown and absorb a hit in your place. Grass conceals useful items, but not everything you uncover is beneficial. The quest also tracks elapsed time and changing daylight, with different outcomes depending on how quickly you return.
