How to Play Totally Rad

Quick start

Press Start from the title to begin at the amusement park, then move right, jump with A and attack with B. Hold B for a stronger shot, but remember that jumping releases it. Press Start to open the magic menu, move the cursor and confirm a spell with A; closing with B or Start alone keeps your previous choice. Hold Up and press B to cast. Check the L life and M magic gauges before deciding between an attack and healing.

Controls

Left/Right: move. Down: crouch. A: jump; hold longer for more height. B: attack; hold and release to charge the human psychic shot. Up+B: cast selected magic. Start: open the magic menu. Menu D-pad: choose; A confirms, B or Start closes without selecting a new spell. Select: pause or resume.

Totally Rad — About this game

Totally Rad follows apprentice magician Jake through five worlds, from amusement-park tracks and a circus to the underground realm. His ordinary psychic shot can be charged for stronger attacks, but jumping releases the charge rather than letting him carry it through the air. Twelve magical options broaden the action: restore health, freeze enemies, use elemental attacks or transform into a creature suited to the terrain. The lion is protected while jumping, the eagle can stay aloft, and the fish swims through water. These powers draw on a limited meter, so spending everything on attacks leaves less room for recovery. Large bosses reward learning their patterns and choosing when magic matters most.
