How to Play Mickey Mousecapade

Quick start

Once play begins, explore the opening house before rushing for its exit. Dodge enemies until you find Mickey's weapon in a treasure chest. Use A to jump and B to throw the collected projectile. Watch Minnie's position when crossing gaps; she follows rather than being a separately controlled second player. Look through the other rooms for her weapon as well. If a door requires a key, return to unexplored rooms and investigate the house instead of assuming it is a straight run to the right.

Controls

Control Pad left/right: move. Up/down: use ladders. A: jump. B: throw the eraser once the relevant weapon has been collected. Minnie follows Mickey's movement; account for both positions when crossing platforms. Her projectile must also be found before she can attack. These are the Japanese version's basic play controls; no overseas stage-select sequence or browser keyboard mapping is assumed.

Mickey Mousecapade — About this game

The Japanese Famicom adventure pairs Mickey with a following Minnie, turning simple movement into a problem of keeping two characters together. A safe landing for Mickey is not enough if Minnie misses the platform behind him. Exploration matters too: the opening house contains the weapons needed to fight and keys needed to open the route onward. The wider journey passes through a house, seaside, woods, a pirate ship, and a castle. Japanese bosses draw heavily on Alice in Wonderland, with Captain Hook appearing on the pirate ship; the American release changes much of that enemy cast. Here, the collected projectiles are described as erasers rather than the American manual's stars. Searching the opening area for both characters' weapons is a useful preparation for the stages ahead.
