How to Play Mickey Mousecapade

Quick start

In the Fun House, look for a treasure chest in a blue room to obtain Mickey's star. Until then, avoid enemies rather than trying to shoot them. Use A to jump, B to fire after arming yourself, and the Control Pad to move between rooms and climb. The original manual directs you up through three green rooms, then right through a blue room and two brown rooms, down two ladders, and left to the blue room holding Minnie's star. To leave the Fun House, obtain the Wizard's key for the door marked KEY. If Minnie is taken away, recover her before trying to proceed.

Controls

Control Pad left/right: move Mickey and the following Minnie. Up/down: climb through the room routes and ladders. A: jump. B: shoot stars after collecting the character's weapon. Minnie follows your movement rather than using a second controller. Both must make it through the stage together; she needs her own star to shoot. Controls use original NES button names, not unverified keyboard or touchscreen bindings.

Mickey Mousecapade — About this game

Mickey Mousecapade mixes platform jumps with room-by-room searching. You control Mickey while Minnie follows, so every crossing needs to work for both of them. The first Fun House is more than an introductory corridor: its treasure chests hold the stars that let the pair shoot, and its locked exit requires a key. Finding Minnie's separate star makes her more useful than a companion who merely trails behind. Later areas bring forests, water, pirates, and a castle, while hidden bonuses reward shots at suspicious scenery. A crow can carry Minnie away, forcing you to find a hidden key and attempt her rescue before continuing. This is the American NES release, whose enemy characters and star-shaped weapons should not be described as the Japanese version's Wonderland roster and erasers.
