How to Play Circus Caper
Quick start
Start the game and practice moving left and right, jumping with A and punching with B. Down + B gives you a kick for low targets. Collect food and equipment from defeated enemies, then use SELECT to choose a tool and B to activate it. In the opening water sections, jump from one alligator to the next only after the next platform is visible. Keep a block available for the high exit: place it a little away from the edge and jump onto it. In the following jet section, A lifts Tim into the air. Take health pickups before pushing into another crowded stretch.
Controls
Left/Right move; Down crouches. A jumps, or provides lift in the first stage's jet section. B punches or fires the selected tool. Down + B kicks. SELECT changes the selected tool, and START pauses play. Press Up at a flower-filled top hat in stage 3 or a black door in stage 6 to warp to another area; Up also enters carnival games at their hidden entrances. Select the block and press B to create a platform at Tim's height, rather than expecting it to damage enemies.
Circus Caper — About this game
Circus Caper follows Tim into a circus after his sister Judy disappears and Mr. Magic claims to have taken her. Its six stages mix clowns, animals, narrow platforms and maze-like routes. Defeated enemies release food or tools, so surviving a crowded stretch can also refill your health and replenish your options. The tools have different jobs: a hammer attacks ahead, a soccer ball rolls over the ground, a yo-yo spins around Tim and a block provides a temporary step toward a high exit. Some scenes change movement rules, including a jet-assisted section in the opening stage. Although related to Japan's Moeru! Oniisan, this version uses its own circus cast and setting, not Kenichi's speech-bubble rescue story.
