How to Play Super Dodge Ball
Quick start
Press START at the title. Choose the expedition mode with Up/Down and an easier difficulty with Left/Right, then press START. Keep Kunio in the inner court for an introductory match. Use B to throw and A to pass when holding the ball. Face an incoming throw and time B to catch it; double-tap Left or Right to run. Combine A+B for a jump, then B for a jumping throw.
Controls
D-pad: move/select. Double-tap Left or Right: run. With the ball, A passes and B throws. Without it, A ducks and B catches. Near a loose ball, A or B picks it up. A+B: jump. START: begin/pause. A B press on the seventh running step can trigger a power shot in this Japanese version.
Super Dodge Ball — About this game
The Japanese Famicom game keeps Kunio and the Nekketsu High School cast rather than the American names used in Super Dodge Ball overseas. Each side has three players inside the court and three outside. Taking a hit reduces an infielder’s energy instead of immediately sending that player out; defeat all three opposing infielders to win. The single-player expedition begins against Hanazono High School and continues through international opponents, ending with the American team. Choose your lineup to balance tough receivers and powerful throwers, and use passes to attack from another side of the court. A separate versus mode offers team competition, while Club Activity removes the court boundaries for a survival brawl among teammates. Running throws and timed special shots add more depth once ordinary passing and catching feel comfortable.
