How to Play Super Dodge Ball
Quick start
Press START after the opening screen. Use Up/Down to select World Cup Play and Left/Right to choose Easy, then START. For a simple first attempt, keep the existing positions and press START to begin. Aim at opposing infielders and press B to throw; use A to pass to a teammate. On defense, face the ball and time B for the catch, or use A to duck. A+B jumps.
Controls
D-pad: walk; press the same movement direction twice to run. A: pass with the ball, duck on defense. B: throw with the ball, catch on defense. A or B near a loose ball: pick it up. A+B: jump. START: begin/pause. SELECT on the pre-game screen cycles your team’s statistics, the opponent’s statistics and the pre-game view. In lineup selection, A selects and B undoes a choice.
Super Dodge Ball — About this game
Super Dodge Ball turns dodgeball into a contest of stamina and spectacular throws. Team USA, led by Sam Powers, starts against the Pro All-Stars before facing international opponents on the road to the Soviet team. Each side fields three inner-court players and three outside players. Hits drain energy, and an infielder leaves only when that energy is exhausted, so smart catches and evasive moves matter as much as throwing power. Players differ in speed, toughness and throwing technique, giving lineup selection a real purpose. World Cup Play supplies the single-player campaign, Versus Play allows a friend to take the other team, and Bean Ball offers a one- or two-player free-for-all among your teammates. Start with safe passes and ordinary catches before trying the special timing required for power shots.
