How to Play Adventure Island II
Quick start
Choose START at the title and press START. The first item screen is empty, so press START again to enter the opening stage. Move right, use A to jump and collect fruit. Open an egg for an axe or dinosaur; save valuable equipment at later item screens when the terrain does not need it.
Controls
Left/Right: move. A: jump on land, fly with the pterosaur or swim upward in water. B: weapon or mount attack and faster movement. START: start, pause or resume. Item screen: D-pad selects, A equips, B stores current equipment, START enters the stage. SELECT changes title options. With Hudson Bee, Left+START retains stock when continuing.
Adventure Island II — About this game
Four dinosaur companions change how Higgins crosses each stretch of the archipelago. The blue land dinosaur whips its tail, the red one breathes fire, the pterosaur flies and drops rocks, and the aquatic companion makes underwater travel easier. Land riders are not a substitute for the swimmer, so choosing the right companion before a stage matters. An item screen lets you store equipment that is not needed and take saved axes or mounts into a later area. Fruit, meat and milk keep the draining vitality meter supplied; an eggplant makes it empty faster. Hidden eggs can reveal bonus rooms, shortcuts or useful items, while each island ends with a boss. Ordinary Continue restarts the current island and empties stored equipment. Find the hidden Hudson Bee to use Left plus START when continuing and retain the inventory. This is a single-player journey through separate stages, not a two-rider cooperative game.
