Choose New Game, select a boy or girl, then one of the two available kittens or two puppies, read its personality, confirm and enter a name. You begin in the Pet House: check health, feed, wash and groom the pet, clean its home and let it sleep before energy runs low. From the courtyard enter the Yard and use Tricks plus Fetch for a dog or Hunt for a cat to raise bond, confidence and ability. First keep hunger, health, energy and hygiene balanced, then practise for Sunday agility with a dog or barrel-leaping with a cat. The game saves automatically when the pet sleeps at night.

Menus: D-pad navigates, A confirms, SELECT goes back and START pauses/opens Options. In activities, the D-pad moves the boy or girl, target or care tool and cycles customisation slots. Hold A to increase Authority or Throwing Force, then release it to issue the command or throw. B performs Click & Treat. L/R cycle commands, SELECT returns and START pauses. For Fetch, aim with the D-pad and hold/release A; for Hunt, move the target with the D-pad.
