Choose New Game, select a boy or girl, then choose one of the two available kittens or two puppies, read its personality, confirm and enter a name. The game begins in the Pet House. Check health, feed the pet, wash and groom it, clean the house and let it rest before spending too much energy. Move through the courtyard to the Yard and use Tricks plus Fetch for a dog or Hunt for a cat to build bond, confidence and ability. Your first practical goal is to keep hunger, health, energy and hygiene balanced while preparing a dog for Sunday agility or a cat for Sunday barrel-leaping; the game auto-saves when the pet sleeps at night.

Menus: D-pad navigates, A confirms, SELECT goes back and START pauses/opens Options. During activities, the D-pad moves the boy or girl, a target or care tool and cycles customization slots. Hold A to raise Authority or Throwing Force, then release A to give the command or throw the ball. B performs Click & Treat. L and R cycle available commands; SELECT returns and START pauses. In Fetch, aim with the D-pad, hold A for force and release; in Hunt, move the target with the D-pad.
