How to Play Pokémon FireRed Version
Quick start
Select "NEW GAME" and decide on the gender and name. When you leave the house in Masala Town and go north, you will be stopped by Professor Oak, and you will be able to choose your first Pokemon from the three at the laboratory. After the rival battle, head to Tokiwa City from the 1st floor, pick up a "good gift" at the friendly shop, return to the research institute, get a Pokédex, and begin your journey in earnest.
Controls
Move/select with the cross button. Press A to make a decision, have a conversation, examine what's in front of you, or send a text. Press B to cancel, and after getting the running shoes, hold B and move to run. Field menu with START. Sort tools and techniques using registered tools with SELECT. L for help, R also for help and chat text switching. In battle, use the cross button to select commands, press A to confirm, and press B to return.
