How to Play Pokémon Ruby Version
Quick start
After deciding the gender and name in "NEW GAME", get off the moving truck and enter the new house in Mishiro Town. Set your clock, talk to your family, visit your neighbors, then continue north. Select one from Professor Aquilegia's bag in Bandro 101, defeat the wild Pokemon, and return to the laboratory to recruit it. You can get the picture book by meeting your rival in Bandro 103 and returning to the research institute.
Controls
Move/select with the cross button. Press A to decide, have a conversation, look ahead, or send text. Press B to cancel, and after getting the running shoes, hold B and move to run. Menu at START. Sort tools and techniques using registered tools with SELECT. L/R is usually not used, but you can switch between left and right screens or change to L=A in Button Mode. For battle, use the cross button, A decision, B return.
