How to Play Popeye: Rush for Spinach
Quick start
Select Adventure, choose Popeye, Olive Oyl, Wimpy or Bluto, and enter the opening race. Keep heading right and finish ahead of all three rivals; defeating opponents is secondary to reaching the line first. Jump hazards, pick up spinach for speed and use course vehicles such as pogo sticks, cars, boats or jetpacks. Items can hinder the nearest rival, while switches and alternative paths reveal quicker routes. Adventure joins eight principal races, and Quick Rush or Time Rush lets you rehearse an individual course afterwards.
Controls
Control Pad: navigate menus and steer the racer through each side-scrolling course. A confirms choices and B backs out of menus. START begins at the title screen. Jumping, items/shoves and vehicles use contextual action buttons shown by the game, but accessible GBA sources do not securely label every one of those actions by native button; use the displayed prompt. Keyboard mappings and control layouts from unrelated Popeye games are intentionally omitted.
