How to Play Raid on Bungeling Bay
Quick start
Choose the one-player GAME A option with SELECT and begin with START. Press A or B to take off after servicing. Turn with left/right and hold up briefly to learn how the helicopter gathers speed. Fire A to clear a factory's defenses, then use B for bombs. On returning to the carrier, slow to a stop or a crawl above it and press A or B to land. Deal with an ALERT before attempting to dock.
Controls
Up accelerates forward; down moves backward and stops on release. Left/right turn the helicopter. A fires the gun and B drops bombs. Either button handles landing over the carrier while stopped or moving very slowly, and takeoff after servicing. SELECT chooses the mode; START starts and pauses/resumes. Two-player mode assigns the helicopter to controller 1 and enemy defenses to controller 2: turn with the D-pad, shoot with A, launch guided missiles with B.
Raid on Bungeling Bay — About this game
This Japanese Famicom edition pits a lone helicopter against the Bungeling Empire's growing defenses. The map wraps around, letting you approach islands from different directions rather than follow a fixed scrolling path. Your gun clears ordinary enemies, but factories need bombs, and the helicopter can carry only nine at once. Leaving a partly damaged factory allows it to recover, so plan repeat trips to the same target. The carrier is both repair station and supply depot, making its survival as important as your own. Watch the damage and bomb displays, return when the ship is under attack, and balance progress against the risk of losing your base.
