How to Play Samurai Deeper Kyo
Quick start
Choose Story Mode and select Demon Eyes Kyo, Benitora, Yukimura or Yuya. If you pick Kyo, the opening briefly gives you Kyoshiro; walk to Yuya and speak to her to bring Kyo forward. In Stage 1, keep moving while cutting through the Kenyo waves, break signs and other scenery for health, and push on to Jimon, the first boss. Avoid being surrounded, spend a charged special when a crowd or boss creates an opening, and back away when a boss blocks or begins a special. A save prompt follows completed stages.
Controls
North American release: Control Pad moves in eight directions. A attacks; repeated presses perform the character's combo. B jumps and can cancel a combo into a knockdown. R activates the charged special attack; one GBA FAQ also records L/R as special inputs, so use the in-game control display if the selected release offers both shoulders. START pauses and offers resume or quit. Hold A+B during dialogue to skip it on repeat playthroughs.
