Quick start

Press START and select 「にゅーげーむ」 for a fresh game. Choose the scenario, one player, a ruler, and the remaining settings; difficulty 1 is the lowest. Begin by checking your officers and supplies through 「ようすをみる」. Use monthly orders to address development, loyalty, or recruitment before attacking. The in-game save command is 14, 「ちゅうだん」.

Controls

B shows the map when the main screen displays its map prompt. On a hex battlefield, select a direction with the pad and confirm with A; for a diagonal, first choose up or down, then left or right.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms — About this game

Sangokushi makes capable people the foundation of a growing empire. As a chosen ruler, you develop provinces, maintain loyalty, find officers, and negotiate with rivals while conserving the gold and rice needed for campaigns. Five scenarios offer different territorial situations rather than a single fixed opening. Domestic decisions advance by month, while war shifts to individual units on a hex map. A larger army is not a substitute for supplies or trustworthy commanders. This Japanese Famicom release uses Japanese menus; its long-term objective is the reunification of China's 58 states.
