How to Play SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge
Quick start
Press START, select Start New Game and enter the first level of Chapter 1, Jelly Fields. Head right through the platform route, use A for jumps and B's karate chop when an enemy blocks a safe landing, then pick up the sparkling Jellyfish Jelly at the end to complete the level. Golden Spatulas are optional; the GBA booklet grants an extra life for 50, so take convenient groups without risking the quest item for a difficult one. Each new tool displays its own prompt: catch nearby jellyfish with the net and keep the captured shots for awkward enemies or switches.
Controls
Use Left/Right on the Control Pad to move and Up/Down to look. A jumps and selects menu items. B performs the karate chop, uses the equipped tool's primary action or returns from a menu. START pauses. L shows SpongeBob's status: health, equipped item and uses, lives and spatulas. Tool inputs depend on the item: the jellyfishing net uses R to catch and B to launch a jellyfish; the coral blower uses R to suck up shells and B to fire the stored shell; the bubble wand uses R to create a bubble platform. Read the on-screen prompt whenever a later tool is collected.
