How to Play Spyro Adventure
Quick start
Press START at the title screen and start a New Game. Follow the Virtual Training Area prompts to learn jumping, gliding, flaming and charging, then beat Butler to arrive in Dragon Shores. When exploration opens up, press L+R for the map and find Elder Terry, the large pink dragon north-east of the pineapple marker; accept his stolen-toys request to begin the first Heart of Dragon Shores quest. Speak to named characters, gather the easy gems and return to blocked routes after gaining new breath powers or equipment.
Controls
Move and navigate menus with the Control Pad. A jumps; press A again in mid-air to glide. B uses the selected breath, and certain later breath attacks can be charged by holding B. R charges. SELECT changes breath type. START opens the pause menu, L+R shows the area map, and L+START opens the Journal. Once the Phoenix Glasses are obtained, L+A reveals hidden teleporters. In Sgt. Byrd stages, tap A repeatedly to fly, press B to fire the guns, and press L or R to drop a missile.
