How to Play Spyro: Season of Ice
Quick start
When you start a new game from the title screen, your adventure begins at Autumn Fairy Home. First, go to the top right and use the flame on the blue ice crystal to save the first fairy, Gabrielle. Before entering the portal in Lava Prairie, go around the platform, rescue the nearby fairy, and set all eight pumpkins on fire to save another one. Barrels and pots can be broken with a charge to collect gems. In the Japanese version, it is safe to use SELECT's area map and check for unexplored roads as you proceed.
Controls
Use the cross button to move and operate menus. Press A to jump, press A again in the air to glide, and press A again while gliding to hover and finish gliding. B is fire breath and cancels the menu, R is charge. Hold L and use the cross button to look around. Press START to pause, and press SELECT to display the Japanese version of the area map. The color of Sparx is a guide to your health, and you can recover it by defeating small animals with flames and taking the butterflies that appear.
