Choose New Game at the title screen, then pick Ryusei's route or Kyosuke's route. Ryusei Scenario 1 places Elzam's Gespenst Mk. II-R against five Megillots: destroy every enemy to clear it, or finish within four turns for the Battle Mastery. Cast Accelerate to reach the southern enemy and let counterattacks remove units during the enemy phase. Kyosuke Scenario 1 uses the Wild Raptor against two tanks and two F-32 fighters; destroy all four, with a two-turn Battle Mastery. Cast Accelerate and Concentrate, use missiles against the tanks and the beam shot against the aircraft. At the start of every map, read the victory, defeat and Mastery conditions, and check hit rates and the enemy's counterweapon before confirming an attack.

The Control Pad navigates menus and moves the map cursor. A confirms; on an allied unit it opens commands such as Move, Attack, Spirit and Wait. B cancels, shows brief unit data over a unit, or terrain data over an empty square; hold B while moving the Control Pad to scroll quickly. L/R cycles to the previous or next allied unit and changes pages or sort parameters in data screens. START opens Quick Save, and SELECT displays the full-map view. During dialogue, R+A advances text rapidly. Choose a weapon with A, inspect the predicted hit and damage values, then confirm the battle action.
