Pad: move/select; SELECT also moves menu cursors. START confirms modes or shows the match scoreboard. A punches; B kicks. In a grapple, Up+B slams, Down+B headbutts, Left/Right+B throws toward the ropes. Assigned direction+A uses a favorite move against a kneeling opponent. Hold A to vary its power meter and release at a high reading. A+B activates an eligible specialty; Left/Right+A+B runs. A near a fallen opponent pins; B at their feet lifts them. Repeated A or B helps escape holds or get up.
WCW: World Championship Wrestling — About this game
WCW: World Championship Wrestling puts twelve NWA stars into a NES wrestling game with singles and tag-team modes. Before each bout, choose four favorite techniques from your wrestler's eight-move selection. Punches and kicks weaken the opponent so you can grapple, throw or apply a hold, with a timing-based power meter affecting damage. The one-player singles route requires repeated tournament victories before a final challenge against the WCW Master. You can also form a tag team or compete against a second player. Victory can come by a three-count pin, a submission or an opponent staying outside the ring too long. The American edition uses WCW names and presentation, distinct from the Japanese Super Star Pro Wrestling roster.
