How to Play Texas Hold 'Em Poker

Quick start

Press START at the title screen, choose Quick Play, then pick either a single match or a quick tournament and set the table rules. For a first game, use limit betting so the stakes are easier to follow. Each hand begins with two private cards; use the betting menu to check or call when the price is small, and fold weak starting cards rather than paying through the flop, turn and river. Your immediate goal is to finish with the best five-card hand made from your two cards and the five community cards, or make every opponent fold. Move to Career when ready: win five winner-take-all matches, progressing through four city tournaments toward the Las Vegas championship, and keep the displayed password for resuming progress.

Controls

Use the D-Pad to move through menus and betting choices; when setting a wager, Left/Right decreases or increases the chip total. A confirms the highlighted option or bet, while B cancels and returns to the previous screen. R switches the table view. START opens the Pause menu during a hand; choose Resume to continue or use the available menu options to leave the current game. SELECT and L have no assigned function.
