How to Play The Revenge of Shinobi
Quick start
Select New Game and listen to Ishii's account of the Five Elemental Swords. The opening area doubles as a lesson: head right, climb the steps and slash the first enemy, beehive and pot. Each of the five lands has four stages followed by its Shogun, while hidden scrolls add attacks and let you return to earlier stages for secrets. Keep the 16-character password shown for later sessions. Full health, every item or every defeated enemy awards an Honour, but on a first attempt concentrate on learning hazards and finding the exit.
Controls
D-pad: move, crouch, climb and select menu items. Follow the opening prompt for the Jump and Attack face buttons; they cover jumping/somersaulting and katana attacks. Hold R+Attack: use a shuriken. L: choose elemental magic. Hold R+Jump: cast the selected magic. START: pause. Public GBA text does not identify Jump and Attack as A or B without ambiguity, so no Genesis or emulator mapping is substituted.
