Press START at the title screen and choose Play Now for the guided challenge route; the first event is the Par 5 Challenge, where Tiger must play holes 2, 9, 11 and 16 in fewer than 20 strokes. Before the first drive, press B to inspect the hole in Targeting Mode, move the target away from water and bunkers, then return to the overhead view. Press A three times to swing: start the meter, stop near the top for power, then stop near the accuracy line at the bottom. A safe first goal is the center of the fairway rather than maximum distance; on the opening challenge, a conservative mid-iron lay-up can protect the score on a long par five. Use Practice > Driving Range first if you want to learn the meter without a score, or choose Games > PGA Tour for the full tournament route.

Use the D-Pad to move through menus; A confirms and B cancels. During a shot, L/R selects the previous or next club, SELECT cycles 100%, 50% and 25% power, and START opens the Resume/Exit menu. In Overhead Mode, Up/Down changes between forward, middle and back stance; press A once to start the power meter, again to set power and a third time to set accuracy and strike the ball. B switches between Overhead and Targeting modes. In Targeting Mode, Left/Right moves the landing target while Up/Down scrolls the course view; A returns to Overhead Mode.
