Choose your language on the first boot, then select Single Player from the Main Menu. Pick an empty save slot and its green disk icon, choose Recruit, Veteran or Elite, and enter Campaign. After reading the briefing, assemble four operatives; three Assault specialists and one Recon specialist are a sound first team because Recon makes nearby enemies appear as red dots on the map. Enter the New York museum by its main door, free the hostages and eliminate all terrorists. Use L+B beside a hostage to have them follow, inspect the map with SELECT, and lead them to the red extraction rectangle. Keep the squad together behind an Assault leader and avoid reloading half-full magazines, as their remaining rounds are lost.

The D-Pad moves in eight directions and moves the crosshair in manual aim; hold L with a direction to strafe. A reloads and B fires, while holding B with a grenade sets a longer throw. L+A crouches; L+B performs actions including opening doors, rescuing hostages, defusing bombs and operating terminals. R+A changes weapon or enters sniper mode, and R leaves sniper mode. L+R+A changes the controlled operative. Double-tap L to order the entire team to hold or follow, and double-tap R for one nearby operative. SELECT shows the map; START pauses and displays mission status. Menus use D-Pad, A to confirm and B to cancel. Control Set 2 exchanges A and B.
