Choose an empty slot with A, set Easy, Normal or Hard, then select Start Game, Bolivia and A after reading the level introduction. Lara starts on a Bolivian cliff, heading towards ancient ruins and a stone dais. Learn the movement from the opening prompts: climb with the D-Pad, use B with a direction to jump between ledges, pass the first checkpoint and swim through the waterfall pool. Push the boulder into the pit to uncover a silver reward, then use the vines and dangling rope to climb on. Lara catches ordinary ledges automatically, but an A prompt means a saving grab is required. Progress is stored automatically at checkpoints; bronze, silver and gold rewards fund Extras rather than blocking the route.

The D-Pad moves, runs, climbs, swims and pushes or pulls movable objects. B jumps; B plus a direction performs a directional jump, while Down+B rolls or drops to a lower ledge. A fires, uses switches and shoots an environmental hazard when prompted. Hold R and use Left/Right to select a weapon, grenade or health pack, release R and press A to use it; tap R to holster. L throws the magnetic grapple, Left/Right builds a swing and B releases into a jump. SELECT opens the PDA for objectives, data and gear; START pauses. On a motorcycle, R accelerates, B brakes or reverses, Left/Right steers and A fires. Menus use the D-Pad, A to confirm and B to return.
