Play Tony Hawk's Underground (US edition · English) Online

Press START, choose Story from the main menu and create your skater to begin the climb from unknown teenager to pro. The story opens in New Jersey outside your house. Skate east to Benny and press L to talk to him; the first Learning Stats Tutorial asks you to raise the Rail stat by grinding for two seconds, and the wooden rail beside Benny is the easiest place to do it. Hold B to crouch, release to ollie toward the rail, then press A in the air and balance with Left/Right. The first four New Jersey goals are sequential, after which more jobs open up. Check START → Skater Progress → Stats whenever a tutorial goal is unclear, and buy helmet/pads or drinks from the pause-menu Skate Shop if repeated falls are ending goals.

Use Up/Down on the D-Pad to accelerate or slow and Left/Right to turn; menus use Up/Down, A to confirm and B to return. Hold B to crouch and release to ollie. In the air, L plus a direction performs a flip trick and R plus a direction performs a grab; tap L on the ground for nollie stance and R for switch stance. Press A near a rail, edge or lip to grind or wallride; use Left/Right to balance a grind, or Up/Down to balance a lip trick. Tap Down-Up or Up-Down on the ground for a manual and balance with Up/Down. Press R on landing to revert. Hold Down until the skater steps off the board, hold A to run, steer with Left/Right and press B to jump or get back on; during a trick link, jump then tap A twice in the air to enter running mode. Press L near a goal character to talk and START to pause.
