How to Play Top Spin 2
Quick start
On the first boot, choose a language and press A, then press START at the title screen. For the quickest match, choose Play Now > Exhibition > One Player; set the number of games and sets, Deuce, Tiebreak, court position and difficulty, then choose a venue, your player and an opponent. Your first objective is simply to win that singles match. Start each swing early: hold A for a safe shot or B for a slice, steer after the backswing begins, and release with enough time to meet the ball. Use R+B to lob an opponent who crowds the net and L+B for a drop shot when they stay deep. For the longer route, choose Career, create and name a player, then use the world map to enter tournaments or Level 1 mini-games; you begin ranked 100 and training earns stars for attributes. The career saves automatically after you confirm the player's name. To resume later, choose Career, highlight the save file and press A.
Controls
Menus: use the D-Pad to highlight, A to confirm and B to return; START opens the pause menu during a match. On court, the D-Pad moves the player and aims after the backswing starts. Hold A for a stronger safe shot and B for a stronger slice shot. R+A performs a topspin shot, R+B a lob, L+A a risk shot and L+B a drop shot. For serves, A is a safe serve, B is a slice serve and R is a risk serve. SELECT displays the score panel. On the Career world map, move with the D-Pad and press L or R to switch between tournaments and mini-games.
