Press START at the title screen, choose New Game, and begin the Intro - Prison Escape stage. The Frill lizards are trying to break Boss Cass out: move through the prison, clear enemies with your boomerangs, use switches and platforms as introduced, and reach the escape confrontation. A is your jump; once Ty has both boomerangs, press and hold A again while airborne to glide across long gaps. Normal boomerangs can be aimed in eight directions, so use the D-Pad before throwing instead of standing directly in an enemy's path. After the intro, Bush Rescue HQ and the overworld lead to the next marked missions; collect Opals for new boomerangs, and remember that meeting an enemy on the overworld starts a driving battle that must be cleared before travel continues.

Menus: D-Pad Up/Down highlights an option, A selects it, and B returns to the previous screen. Platform stages: the D-Pad moves Ty and aims in the available directions; A jumps; press and hold A again while airborne to glide once both boomerangs are available; B throws a boomerang. Hold L and press a D-Pad direction to switch among acquired boomerangs. Hold R and use the D-Pad to look around the playfield. START pauses and opens the in-game screen. The GBA release also has overworld vehicle encounters and Bunyip sections, but the inspected sources did not expose a reliable separate button table for those modes, so no home-console vehicle mapping is substituted here.
