How to Play Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004
Quick start
At first boot, choose one of the six languages, then select NEW GAME with Left/Right on the title screen and press A. The new save starts with three different decks and saves automatically. Open Edit Deck from the main menu, use SELECT to change deck and refine one to 40 cards; two or three Tribute monsters are a manageable early balance. Choose Campaign and start with an unlocked Level 1 duellist such as Tea Gardner or Tristan Taylor. Work towards beating every Level 1 opponent three times while gaining cards, because that campaign milestone is needed before Level 2 opponents can become available with their individual card requirements.
Controls
D-pad: move the cursor and select menus, commands and cards. A: confirm menus, commands or cards and advance messages. B: cancel/return; in a duel, advance through phases. In Edit Deck, R adds a card, L removes one and SELECT changes among the three decks. During a duel, hold L to run play at twice normal speed. Save/load is automatic, and the manual does not assign START a general gameplay function.
