How to Play Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004
Quick start
On first boot, choose one of the six languages, then use Left/Right on the title screen to select NEW GAME and press A. A new save supplies three different decks; progress is saved automatically. From the main menu, open Edit Deck, use SELECT to switch decks and tune one to 40 cards—an early deck is easier to draw consistently with only two or three Tribute monsters. Return to Campaign and begin against an already unlocked Level 1 duelist such as Tea Gardner or Tristan Taylor. Your first progression goal is to defeat every Level 1 duelist three times while collecting cards, which is required before Level 2 opponents can appear alongside their card-based unlock conditions.
Controls
D-pad: move the cursor and select menus, commands and cards. A: confirm a menu, command or card and continue messages. B: cancel or return to the previous screen; during a duel, advance between phases. Edit Deck: R adds a card to the selected deck, L removes a card, and SELECT switches among the three decks. During a duel, holding L speeds play to twice normal speed. Saving and loading are automatic; the manual assigns no general gameplay command to START.
