How to Play Metal Slug 5 (NGM-2680)

Quick start

Learn the ordinary shot and jump.
Face the intended direction and press Down + Jump to slide.
Practise the slide away from a dangerous edge.
Learn each vehicle’s movement when it becomes available.

Controls

Down + B, the Jump button, performs the slide in the facing direction. In Slug Gunner, holding Down while moving switches to tank form. Its faster tank movement trades away the walking form’s broader firing direction.

Metal Slug 5 (NGM-2680) — About this game

Metal Slug 5 (NGM-2680) adds a low slide to its shooting and vehicle assault. Holding Down with Jump sends the soldier quickly along the ground, creating an escape below certain shots but also changing the familiar crouch-and-jump response. The Slug Gunner can change from a walking robot into a faster tank form, while the Slug Mobile and Spider Slug bring other brief vehicle encounters. Learn a controlled slide before using it near a drop, then keep room for ordinary movement when the next crowded fight makes a long low dash unsafe.
