Quick start
- Select a fighter and compare the ism descriptions.
- Practise blocking without letting the guard gauge empty.
- In A-ism, use the attack strength to choose the super level.
- In V-ism, activate a custom combo with a matching-strength punch and kick.
Controls
Use three punch and three kick strengths. Back blocks standing attacks and Down-Back blocks low. In A-ism, the attack strength selects a Super Combo’s level. In V-ism, press Punch+Kick of the same strength to activate a custom combo. X-ism cannot air-block or Alpha Counter.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 (USA 980616, SAMPLE Version) makes the selected fighting style change both offence and defence. A-ism supplies a three-level Super Combo gauge, X-ism concentrates on one powerful super and V-ism exchanges supers for a custom-combo activation. Blocking also consumes a separate Guard Power gauge; exhausting it leaves the fighter vulnerable and reduces the gauge’s restored maximum. Character choice therefore works together with the selected ism.
