How to Play Super Spy Hunter

Quick start

Hold B to keep pressure on enemies, but stay below the top edge so bends and warning signs remain visible. Time carrier destruction for P and R early, or L when health is damaged. A adjusts manual cannons; after obtaining C, let automatic aiming handle them and concentrate on the road. Keep a blue B bomb or G cannon for a crowded attack, because collecting another blue item replaces the one currently stored.

Controls

D-pad maneuvers the vehicle in all directions. START starts and pauses; SELECT is unused. Car: B fires bullets, while A controls manual cannons or activates a stored special. Boat: B fires and A controls manual cannons. Plane: B fires and A is unused. Red pickups activate automatically. Blue special weapons are stored one at a time and triggered with A in car stages.

Super Spy Hunter — About this game

Super Spy Hunter is the US release of Sunsoft's Battle Formula, a top-down vehicular shooter spanning six missions. An armed car weaves through curving roads, jumps and enemy formations before the operation expands into boat and plane sections. Red weapon carriers cycle through automatic upgrades for power, rapid fire, cannon mode and life; blue carriers provide one replaceable special such as oil, tire slashers, an autonomous cannon or a screen-clearing bomb. Surviving requires steering room, capsule timing and careful use of the life gauge.
