How to Play Bomberman II
Quick start
Before pressing A, identify a corner or corridor where your own blast cannot reach. Open only a few soft blocks at a time, collect bomb and flame upgrades, then trap enemies after you have room. Once all enemies are gone, search for the hidden exit without repeatedly bombing it. The remote-control item lets B detonate on command in Normal mode. Pick VS for two players or Battle for three-player competition.
Controls
D-pad moves Bomberman and menu cursors. A drops a bomb. B uses the remote detonator after its item is collected in Normal mode; otherwise it has no basic action. START starts, pauses and resumes. The manual states these controls are universal across Normal, VS and Battle, except that remote detonation is Normal-only. Three-player Battle requires the NES Four Score and a third controller.
Bomberman II — About this game
The European Dynablaster cartridge is Bomberman II under its regional title. White Bomberman has been framed by Black Bomberman and must escape prison across six areas and 48 stages. Each screen is cleared by eliminating its enemies, uncovering the hidden exit and reaching it before time expires. Destructible blocks can conceal upgrades for blast length, bomb capacity, speed and remote detonation. Beyond the solo Normal mode, VS supports two players and Battle supports three simultaneously with a Four Score on original hardware.
