How to Play Wizards & Warriors
Quick start
Jump with A and attack with B, checking above and below each platform because routes often climb vertically. Collect every colored key you see and build the red-gem total before searching for the boss door. Press SELECT only when a useful magic item is available, and press Up to levitate after finding the required item. If energy reaches zero, press a button within five seconds to restart the level with possessions intact.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right moves Kuros and Down crouches. A jumps; combine A with a direction for diagonal jumps, and hold A for extra height. B swings the sword or throws the equipped dagger/axe, with a longer hold extending thrown range. SELECT uses the current magic or item. Up levitates only after obtaining the proper item. START pauses.

The European Wizards & Warriors is Rare's fantasy action-platformer for NES. Kuros explores branching vertical stages from the Forest of Elrond to Castle IronSpire, fighting undead creatures and gathering treasure. Colored keys open matching doors, while bosses demand a minimum number of red gems before they can be faced. Daggers, axes, shields, potions and magic expand the route options, including levitation. Losing all energy does not immediately erase progress: a prompt can restart the current level while preserving collected possessions.
