How to Play Wizards & Warriors
Quick start
Use A to jump and B to attack, exploring above and below instead of treating each stage as a straight path. Take every colored key and build the red-gem requirement before approaching the boss door. Activate held magic with SELECT and use Up for levitation after finding its item. If Kuros loses all energy, press any button within five seconds to restart the level while keeping possessions.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right moves and Down crouches. A jumps; combine it with a direction for diagonal movement and hold it for extra height. B swings the sword or uses the equipped dagger or axe, with longer holds extending thrown range. SELECT activates magic or another held item. Up levitates after the required item is obtained. START pauses.
Wizards & Warriors — About this game
Densetsu no Kishi Elrond is the Japanese Famicom edition of Rare's Wizards & Warriors. Kuros crosses vertically layered forests, ice caverns, fire caves and Castle IronSpire, collecting treasure while battling monsters. Doors require matching colored keys, and each boss encounter remains locked until the required number of red gems has been gathered. Daggers, axes, shields, potions, spells and levitation open safer routes. When energy is depleted, a timely button press restarts the current level without discarding the accumulated inventory.
