How to Play Die Hard
Quick start
Move with the D-pad and press A to use the current attack. Conserve ammunition by punching lone terrorists or using the axe. SELECT cycles running, flash grenades, C4 and other functions; B performs the selected function. Read radio reports, collect keys and protect foot health. Destroy the floor-4 computer, activate the elevator controls on floor 33 and only then commit to the final pursuit of Hans.
Controls
D-pad moves in eight directions; with the submachine gun, movement also directs its spray. A uses the current pistol, submachine gun, axe or punch. SELECT chooses running, flash grenades, C4 and other available functions, while B performs the selection. START begins or pauses play; the pause display shows status information.
Die Hard — About this game
Die Hard for the US NES is an overhead action adaptation built around a changing Nakatomi Plaza. McClane moves freely among floors 31 through 35 while enemies reposition, doors lock, radio reports arrive and the clock continues to run. Pistols, a submachine gun, an axe, flash grenades, C4, detonators and keys offer multiple ways to survive, while foot injuries can restrict aggressive running. The mission includes crucial objectives outside the main tower: destroy the computer on floor 4 that supports the rooftop explosives and activate the express elevator using the control computer on floor 33.
